Periscope, Twitter’s live video streaming service, has announced that it will soon be possible to store broadcasts longer than 24 hours, including the comments and the ‘hearts’. It will also be possible to search broadcasts by title or subject.

In addition, the platform expands to provide live streams from select DJI drone models via an iPhone with iOS 8.2 or later in contact with the drone’s remote control. It is possible to switch the feed from the drone live between the camera of the iPhone and a GoPro.

The option to save videos was recently introduced in the beta version of the service. The capability gives users more control over their videos, according to Periscope. The default setting will no longer be that videos are automatically deleted after 24 hours, but that can be adjusted separately.

Another option Periscope is adding is the ability to search video feeds by searching by title or searching for a particular topic. The topics are indicated via hashtags, such as #Travel, #Music or #Food.

At the beginning of this year, Facebook started a live video service where it is possible to save videos. From the beginning it was possible to save videos via Facebook Live.
