OnePlus shows teaser for fitness tracker

By admin On Jan 4, 2021

The Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus has shown a teaser for its first fitness tracker. Until now, OnePlus only made smartphones and smart TVs. OnePlus previously said it was also working on a smartwatch.

The teaser appeared on OnePlus’ Indian Twitter account. The announcement seems to be coming soon, as OnePlus is holding a competition to promote the launch and the winners will be notified within a few days. That indicates that the introduction of the fitness tracker is near.

It is the first time that OnePlus is going to announce a wearable. There was already a rumor on Saturday that the fitness tracker was coming. The teaser image gives little away, except that the logo is below the screen.

According to the previous rumor, the fitness tracker will cost around 30 euros. The device will also be water resistant, although it is not said to what extent the wearable will become water resistant. It also gets an AMOLED screen and a battery that lasts several days. Less than two weeks ago, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed that the company will release a smartwatch in 2021. At the time, the company stated that it was working with Google to make improvements to Wear OS, but the company emphasized that it does not confirm that this smartwatch will run on that.
