Nvidia has officially released its GeForce RTX 3090 Ti. This video card will have faster memory and slightly more CUDA cores than the current RTX 3090. The GPU will also receive a new PCIe power connector, a TDP of 450W and a suggested retail price of 2249 euros.

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 Ti features a fully enabled GA102 GPU, with 10,752 CUDA cores. The number of Tensor and RT cores has also been increased slightly, to 336 and 84 respectively. In addition, the RTX 3090 Ti has 24GB of GDDR6X memory with 21Gbit/s modules. In combination with a 384-bit memory bus, this results in a total memory bandwidth of 1008GB/s, compared to the 936GB/s of the current RTX 3090.

Partly due to that faster memory, the TDP of the RTX 3090 Ti has been increased to 450W. That is 100W higher than its predecessor. In any case, the RTX 3090 Ti Founders Edition will therefore receive a new PCIe Gen5 connection. This sixteen-pin connector can deliver up to 600W of power. There are only a limited number of power supplies that provide such a connection. Nvidia therefore supplies an adapter that converts the connector to eight-pin connections. The Founders Edition also retains the triple-slot design, although modified variants have already appeared that occupy four slots.

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 Ti goes on sale on March 29. Nvidia gives its own Founders Edition a suggested retail price of 2249 euros. Custom variants will likely cost more. The suggested retail price is a lot higher than that of the comparable RTX 3090, which was 1549 euros at introduction. However, that suggested retail price has recently been increased to 1649 euros.

Nvidia previously announced the arrival of an RTX 3090 Ti, although it shared little information at the time. The company confirmed at CES in January that the video card would be faster, but did not share any further details. The company then said it would officially announce the video card in January, but then didn’t. Nvidia has not officially commented on that postponement.
