Nvidia has officially announced the GeForce GTX Titan Z, of which some details have already been leaked. The monster video card houses two GPUs with a total of 5760 cores that take care of the graphics.

The GeForce GTX Titan Z was shown by Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang at an Nvidia private conference. The beast has two GK110 GPUs on board, each of which can count with 2880 cores, or 5760 cores in total. There is also 12 gigabytes of memory. The computing capacity of the card is 8 teraflops.

According to Nvidia, the card is suitable for playing games at a 5k resolution or more than one monitor. In addition, the device does not heat up during use and the card is relatively quiet, the company says. It is unclear when the GeForce GTX Titan Z will be in the shops, but it is certain that a lot will have to be paid for it; the suggested retail price in the United States is $3,000.

During the conference, Nvidia also showed a new GPU interface to the world. NVLink, as the new interface is called, should replace PCI Express 3.0 and be five to twelve times faster than PCI Express 3.0. As far as we know, the GeForce GTX Titan Z is not yet equipped with the interface.
