‘New Lumix X m4/3 zoom lenses have f/2.8 aperture’
Panasonic will have two prototype Lumix X lenses with an aperture of f/2.8 over the entire range on its booth at CES. These are the expected 12-35mm and 35-100mm lenses. It is unknown when they will be introduced.
That the two professional Lumix X lenses were coming was an open secret, but the aperture range was still guessing. Panasonic has now displayed this information itself on its stand. Incidentally, the aperture values on the lenses were later hidden from view because Panasonic had pasted black stickers over them.
What remains are the prices and the introduction dates. The new lenses may be announced at the same time as a new camera. The first m4/3 camera from Panansonic to be considered for an update is the Lumix GH2. The Lumix GH3 would get improved video functions, among other things.
