Nanoleaf has announced the Screen Mirror feature for its colored LED lighting panels. Users can choose various modes in which the panels display colors based on the screen display.

The Screen Mirror function can be controlled with the new Nanoleaf app, which is available for Windows and Mac. The software allows users to have colors of their lighting based on screen activity. The feature works in conjunction with Nanoleaf’s square Canvas tiles and triangular light panels.

The app allows users to set the colors to match as directly as possible what the screen is showing, or a basic palette based on the display. In addition, the panels can display a dominant color on the screen, which can then slowly change into other colors. Users can also choose to synchronize part of the screen.

A connection to a TV must be made via a computer and Netflix images cannot be synchronized on a Mac, according to Nanoleaf. The latter may have to do with DRM limitations.
