Logitech is releasing the wireless G915 Lightspeed and the wired G815 Lightning RGB under its sub-brand for gamers Logitech G. Both are mechanical keyboards with low-profile GL switches.

With the G915, Logitech combines its Lightsync RGB lighting with its wireless Lightspeed connectivity. Lightspeed is Logitech’s wireless technology that, in combination with a USB dongle, connects via 2.4GHz and, among other things, changes channels to prevent interference as much as possible. This should provide a 1ms report rate, but there is also a mode for slower speeds but longer battery life. In addition, users can switch to a bluetooth mode.

The battery life is 135 days when playing eight hours a day with the lighting off or playing for thirty hours straight with the lighting at 100 percent. After three hours of charging, the keyboard has a full battery and Logitech supplies a USB cable of 1.8 meters. The G915 has five programmable keys, weighs just over a kilogram and is 22mm thick. This small thickness is mainly due to the low-profile GL switches. These switches are flatter than traditional switches and have an actuation distance of 1.5mm and total bottom-out travel distance of 2.7mm. Logitech makes them in GL Linear, GL Tactile and GL Clicky versions for smooth touch, instant feedback and audible touch with tactile feedback respectively.

The G915 will be on the market this month for a suggested retail price of 249 euros.

The G815 is not wireless but has a 1.8 meter long USB cable. In combination with that cable, the keyboard weighs 1.15 kilograms. This keyboard is also 22mm high, comes with low-profile GL keys, contains five programmable keys and has Lightning RGB lighting. In addition, a port for USB passthrough is available for, for example, charging peripheral devices. The G815 will also appear in August for 199 euros.
