The memory modules are sold under Kingston’s HyperX brand and were co-developed with Intel announces the memory maker. The notebook memory was tested in a Flextronics notebook and with the low latencies and ditto voltage requirement should especially appeal to gamers, says Kingston. The fifth generation of Intel’s Centrino platform, the Montevina platform with the Intel Mobile 4 Cantiga chipset, can handle the modules.

The modules come in kits of two memory sticks with a capacity of 2GB and a clock speed of 1066MHz. Kingston’s ddr3 sodimms meet the Jedec standard with their 1.5V voltage requirement and then have latencies of 5-5-5-15. An eXtreme Memory Profile, or XMS, is also available, with which the modules can be easily overclocked. According to Kingston, the modules would have a suggested retail price of $212 in the United States, but the company has not stated a date from which the modules should be available for sale.
