iPhone 13 size: how big will the new iPhone be?

It is almost inevitable that the iPhone 13 will be announced this month. Just like last year, you can expect four different models, in different sizes. What will the iPhone 13 format be?

iPhone 13 size

The iPhone 13 appears in different shapes and sizes. For lovers of small iPhones, there is the iPhone 13 mini. It may come as a surprise to some that an iPhone 13 mini is coming after all, because the first mini iPhone, the iPhone 12 mini, was certainly not a sales success. But for this year it is in the rematch: the iPhone 13 mini with a screen diagonal of 5.4 inches.

Is an iPhone just not big enough for you? The largest and most expensive model is the iPhone 13 Pro Max, with a screen diagonal of 6.7 inches.

In between you have the iPhone 13 and the iPhone 13 Pro: they are exactly the same size, namely 6.1 inches.

In the overview below we have listed the iPhone 13 sizes for you – and the inches converted into centimeters, because most of us can better imagine that. Below the table you see four iPhone 13 dummies in a row (from left to right: the iPhone 13 Pro Max, the iPhone 13 Pro, the iPhone 13 and the iPhone 13 mini)

iPhone 13 mini iPhone 13 iPhone 13 Pro iPhone 13 Pro Max
Screen diagonal 5.4 inches 6.1 inches 6.1 inches 6.7 inches
In centimeters: 13.76 cm 15.40 cm 15.40 cm 16.96 cm

As big as the iPhone 12?

Anyone familiar with the matter will see that the iPhone 13 has exactly the same dimensions as last year’s iPhone 12. The design is also said to remain virtually unchanged. Yet the iPhone 13 is slightly different in the hand and that is because the iPhone 13 is a fraction thicker than its predecessor.

If the rumors are true, the difference in thickness is really minimal: 0.26 mm. Still, it can make a difference when it comes to iPhone 12 cases that just don’t fit. The new iPhone models are not only slightly thicker, but also a tad heavier. This is because the iPhone 13 battery is getting bigger.

iPhone 13 announcement

We expect the iPhone 13 to be announced at an Apple event this month. It may be next week already. The new iPhone will probably get a better camera and a new always-on display.
