Developer New World Interactive puts out his tactical shooter Insurgency: Standstorm until 12 December. The game should actually have come out on September 18th. The game will remain available in beta until release.

In a post on Steam the developer says the game will come out later to make time for improvements. As a beta, the game was playable for people who have placed a pre-order and many issues have come to light that have yet to be resolved.

According to the developer, the delay gives enough time to make significant improvements. The game gets less high system requirements and the game gets an upgrade to Unreal Engine 4.20. The makers also want to improve the textures and animations of the characters in the game and give players more opportunities to customize graphics and gameplay.

New World Interactive also promises more multiplayer options such as a server browser, support for servers provided by the community self-hosted and a system for custom games, in which the rules can be adjusted as desired.

Insurgency: Sandstorm was announced in early 2016. Then a release date was mentioned in 2017, but the game was postponed to September 18, 2018. The first Insurgency game appeared in 2014 as a mod for Half-Life 2.
