Inspection shows specs of Samsung Galaxy S21 FE that is slightly smaller than predecessor

An inspection by the Chinese agency Tenaa shows previously unreleased specifications of the Galaxy S21 FE. The phone has a 6.4″ screen, which is slightly smaller than the S20 FE.

According to TENAA, the OLED screen has a resolution of 2340×1080 pixels and is therefore slightly shorter than the 2400×1080 screen of the S20 FE. The screen of the S21 FE appears to be slightly shorter, with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 compared to the 20:9 screen of the S20 FE. This is also reflected in the length of the phone: the S21 FE is 155mm long, compared to 159mm of the S20 FE.

Tenaa claims that the rear cameras have resolutions of 32MP, 12MP and 8MP. The most logical explanation is that it is a mistake: Samsung has so far only used 32MP cameras as front cameras. According to Tenaa, the front camera has a resolution of 12MP, a resolution that Samsung rarely uses for front cameras.

The battery has a minimum capacity of 4370mAh and that comes out to around the 4500mAh of its predecessor. The soc used is not listed, but there is 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage.

There have been rumors about the S21 FE for months and renders appeared last month. It would again be a cheaper version of the S21 from the beginning of this year, including a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 or Samsung Exynos 2100-soc.

Samsung would like to announce the phone next month. That is normally the time for the announcement of a new Galaxy Note, but that is probably not due to the chip shortages. Samsung does want to show some foldable smartphones.
