Initially, an image of the possible ‘Slim’ version of the PS5 surfaced X, the former Twitter. The same day there was also an Australian PlayStation repairman on social media moving image of the possible PlayStation 5 revision shared.

The video shows the plastic casing of a possible future model of the PS5, with a cutout for the disk drive and two slots on either side of the casing. In addition, there appear to be two USB-C ports on the front. On the current PS5 models, this concerns a USB-C port and a USB-A port. It is not clearly visible to what extent the console’s casing is thinner or smaller than the current PS5 models.

According to Inside Gaming, the new version of the PlayStation 5 would be released in September this year. The expected removable disk drive would allow console owners to purchase a disk drive at a later date. There is also no need to buy a completely new console if the disk drive has any defects. Consumers can currently choose from a PS5 with disk drive for 550 euros and a digital-only version for 450 euros.
