Huawei has announced the Nova 3 smartphone in China. The device shows many similarities with the previously presented Honor 10 and has the same soc and camera as the Honor phone, which is also from Huawei.
The Nova 3 has a 6.3″ LCD with a notch and a resolution of 2340×1080 pixels. The screen ratio is therefore 19.5:9. The Nova 3 is 157×73.7 mm in size and 7.3 mm thick. The relative screen size is , minus the notch, around 84 percent Huawei has left 3.2mm per side, while the top and bottom bezel is 11.7mm.
The Nova 3 runs on the Kirin 970 from Huawei’s own HiSilicon chip division. The 970 is also included in the Mate 10 Pro, P20, P20 Pro and Honor 10. Like the Honor 10, the Nova 3 has a dual camera on the back, with the primary having a color sensor with a maximum resolution of sixteen megapixels and the secondary a monochrome sensor with 24 megapixels. On the front is also a dual camera, with the primary camera having a sensor with up to 24 megapixels and the secondary camera is only used to estimate depth with a resolution of two megapixels.
Huawei will release the Nova 3 next week. The manufacturer has not yet made any details about the price of the smartphone. It is also unknown if and when the device will be released in the Benelux.
