Dance Dance Revolution will be filmed. This is done by Stampede Ventures, a relatively new studio from Hollywood. There is no word yet on the release date, casting and budget of the film.

According to Variety, Stampede Ventures has announced that “the film will revolve around a world on the brink of destruction,” the latter hoping for “union through the universal language of dance.” Because the Konami rhythm games do not have a storyline, it is not yet known which elements of the DDR games will return in the film.

Dance Dance Revolution exists twenty years. The original game was released as an arcade game in late September 1998. The player has to step on panels to the beat of the music. The player gets feedback on his timing through the screen. The game was a hit and got several releases on consoles over the years.

The first DDR console game to be released in Europe was Dancing Stage Disney Mix for the PlayStation 1. That game was released on September 28, 2001. Since then, DDR games have been made for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, GameCube, Nintendo Wii, Xbox, Xbox 360, and PC, among others.
