Grim Fandango Remastered will eventually be released for the Nintendo Switch. This has been announced by the development studio Double Fine Productions. In addition, the studio has revealed that the game Broken Age will also be coming to Switch at an unknown date.

Double Fine has not released much information about the Switch version of Grim Fandango Remastered. For example, it is still unclear when the game should be released on Nintendo’s console. The developer only reports that work is currently underway to bring Grim Fandango Remastered to the Switch and that more information will follow shortly. The polished version of the classic adventure game from 1998 was released in early 2015 for the PlayStation 4, Playstation Vita, Linux, Windows and macOS.

The American developer also announced that the point and click game Broken Age will be released on the Nintendo Switch. Also about the Switch version of Broken Age, Double Fine has not disclosed any further details, such as an indication of the release period. This adventure game was already released in 2015 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, among others, after a Kickstarter campaign raised about 3.4 million dollars. According to Polygon, Double Fine has announced that both titles will be released for the Switch “in the coming months”.

Double Fine was founded in 2000 by Tim Schafer, a game designer who previously spent more than ten years at LucasArts, where he led the development of Grim Fandango, among other things. He also worked at LucasArts on a title like Full Throttle.

Grim Fandango came out twenty years ago and, like Broken Age, is an adventure game. In Grim Fandango, the player in the form of “travel agent” Manny Calvera must help souls on their journey to the afterlife. During this work, Manny discovers cases of crime and corruption. The game is characterized by, among other things, style characteristics of the film noir genre and is full of humor.
