Google will stop supporting Nest Secure from April 8 next year. This is an alarm system whose sales stopped in 2020, but no end date for support was mentioned at that time. Support for the Dropcam will also expire on April 8, 2024.

Google says that it has notified Nest Secure customers and a company community employee provides further explanation. It cites that Google entered into a partnership with US security company ADT in 2020 and that the company believes this partnership ‘creates a more helpful smart home security experience’.

For this reason, support for Nest Secure will be discontinued on April 8, 2024. Until then, all existing features will remain available to users and, according to Google, nothing will change. After that date, Nest Secure will no longer be accessible in the Nest app.

Google is eager to see customers upgrade and says it will approach eligible Nest Secure customers with an offer to purchase a new system from ADT; This probably only applies to American customers. This system from ADT was recently announced.

Nest Secure was introduced in 2017, but did not last long. At the end of October 2020, Google announced that it no longer had any stocks of the Nest Secure and that sales would stop.
