Google Lens will have the ability to identify skin conditions. The company justifies the addition by stating that “describing a strange mole or rash can be difficult to describe with words alone.”

At the same time, when using the function, Google emphasizes that the results are ‘for information purposes only’ and ‘advice should be sought from a medical authority’. In addition to rashes and moles, the function also works for ‘weird spots on your lip, a line on your nails or hair loss on your head’, the company states in the blog post.

Google Lens is the internet giant’s visual search engine. In addition to identifying objects, it can translate, copy text to the clipboard, answer homework questions, identify plants and more. The app is built into Android, but is also included in the Google app on iOS.
