Google accidentally confirms the arrival of Android version ‘Jelly Bean’
Google has apparently accidentally revealed that a new version of the Android operating system will be proposed soon. This upcoming release will be version number 4.1 and will be the first to come to the Galaxy Nexus smartphone.
Users discovered in the US version of Google’s online store Play that the description of the Galaxy Nexus smartphone states that it will soon have Android version 4.1 codenamed Jelly Bean. Incidentally, no further details about the new OS were announced, although the version designation 4.1 seems to indicate that it is a relatively small update: the current Ice Cream Sandwich branch works with version numbers 4.0.x.
Since Google describes that the Galaxy Nexus will be the first smartphone with the new OS, it seems that no new Nexus devices, which have Android 4.1 preinstalled, will be announced. Google is expected to announce the new Android version at its own I/O event, which will be held at the end of June. Then the Nexus 7 tablet is also expected; the first Google tablet. After the announcement, it is likely that the Galaxy Nexus will soon receive the software update that installs Android 4.1 on the device.
Earlier it came out that Google may want to bring five new Nexus devices to the market, which are also made by five manufacturers. It is still unclear whether this rumor is true: it is possible that these devices will only be made public after the announcement of Android 4.1 and Google will only present a tablet during the I/O conference.
