Gigabyte introduces Brix mini PCs with Ryzen 5000U laptop processors

Gigabyte introduces new versions of its Brix mini PCs. These computers are equipped with AMD Ryzen 5000U processors with Zen 3 cores, among other things. The systems should be released in the third quarter of this year. The suggested retail prices are still unknown.

Gigabyte introduces the new Brix PCs at the digital Computex trade show in Taiwan. The company does not specify which Ryzen 5000U CPUs are used for the mini PCs, but does mention that the company will provide models with up to eight Zen 3 cores, suggesting that the highest-positioned model will get an AMD Ryzen 7 5800U. That chip has a tdp of 15W with a clock speed of 1.9GHz and a turbo frequency of 4.4GHz. Users can equip the system with an M.2 SSD and up to 64GB DDR4-3200 memory via SO-DIMM slots.

The PCs will have a size of 44x134x139mm, the company reports. Gigabyte provides the Brix systems with 2.5Gbit / s Ethernet and Wi-Fi 6E support. In addition, the PCs contain a rpm module. The company releases two versions; a thinner version, and a higher model. The higher variant offers space for an additional 2.5 “SD or HDD. Gigabyte would also come with additional upgrade sets, allowing users to provide the PCs with an additional RJ45 connector for Ethernet. The company is also coming with an upgrade set for storage. , which adds space for two additional M.2 SSDs.

Users can also connect four screens to the PCs, which have two HDMI connections, a mini DisplayPort connection and a USB-C connector with DisplayPort support. The Brix systems also get five USB 3.1 connections and a 3.5 mm jack for audio and a microphone.
