First Blu-ray Digital Copy’s for Android released

Twentieth Century Fox Entertainment for the first time offers the possibility to stream a Digital Copy of a Blu-ray movie to an Android device. This BD Live option requires, among other things, that the disc is in the player.

The Digital Copy playback capability works through BD Live. Google Android users will need the Blu-ray Disc of the respective movie, Unstoppable, as well as a Blu-ray player with BD Live support, Android 1.6 or higher and the PocketBLU application. In addition, a WiFi connection is of course required for the stream itself. The PocketBLU application is free to download from the Android Market, reports Twentieth Century Fox Entertainment.

Qualcomm announced Monday that the company with its future Snapdragon-socs meets the DRM requirements for the display of Netflix content on Android devices. Netflix is ​​already available on iOS and Windows Phone 7. Netflix sets the DRM requirements for the use of its Watch Instantly service. Current Android devices must continue to do without Netflix.
