Entire team behind Filmic Pro camera app fired, Bending Spoons confirms

Bending Spoons has fired all 22 employees from the original team behind camera app Filmic Pro, including CEO Neill Barham. The company confirms this to The Verge. Filmic is now “fully integrated into the Bending Spoons platform.”

Brought last Friday PetaPixel it has been revealed that the entire team behind Filmic has been fired. Bending Spoons is now in the process of layoffs confirmed to The Verge and says that further development of Filmic Pro is now in the hands of the Bending Spoons team.

Filmic was acquired by Bending Spoons in September 2022, after which the Filmic Pro app switched to a subscription form instead of a one-time payment. Filmic Pro can now be used for 3.50 euros per week or 60 euros per year. Filmic Pro is popular among smartphone users to record videos and music videos.

Bending Spoons is an Italian tech company that mainly focuses on mobile apps. It previously acquired the note-taking app Evernote. It is also known for apps such as Splice, which the company acquired from GoPro in 2018, and Remini.
