The flamethrower that Elon Musk has made with his company The Boring Company has already been sold ten thousand times. Musk says owners of the device will be happy with their purchase if a zombie apocalypse breaks out.

The $500 flamethrower seems mostly a joke gone wrong. Elon Musk said in December last year that if he managed to sell fifty thousand caps bearing the name of his tunneling company The Boring Company, he would start selling The Boring Company flamethrower. According to him, the rumor that he’s creating a zombie apocalypse to drive up demand for the flamethrower, isn’t he.

There has been quite a bit of commotion about the flamethrower. An American politician from California plans to legislation with which the flamethrower cannot be sold. However, according to Musk, his flamethrower complies with the relevant regulations, as the flame produced does not exceed three meters.

The Boring Company is a tunneling company founded by Elon Musk in 2016. He wants to create a 3D network of underground tunnels to reduce the current traffic and congestion. The idea is not only to solve urban traffic jams, but the tunnels could also become part of the hyperloop. Musk hopes to keep the costs under control by drilling relatively narrow tunnels.
