Developer creates application launcher for Android Wear

A developer has released a launcher for the Android Wear operating system. This will show users an application list, which can then be used to open an app, similar to the interface on an Android smartphone.

The launcher for Android Wear can be downloaded for free from the Play Store and was created by Nicolas Pomepuy. After installation, users are given the option to open a list of installed applications on the smartwatch with a single swipe. You can do that by swiping in from the top left corner.

With the custom Android Wear launcher, smartwatch wearers get an application list that is similar to how Android works on the smartphone and tablet. Google expects users to launch applications via a voice command. However, those who prefer to use the touchscreen must first start a voice command, cancel it, then scroll down a long list, tap the ‘start’ option and start the icon of the relevant app.

According to Pomepuy, his Wear Mini Launcher should be seen as a first version, so there may still be bugs in the software. The maker promises to come up with updates. Earlier this week, a developer came up with a custom rom for Android Wear devices
