A developer claims to have made a jailbreak for iOS 9.2.1, but does not release the jailbreak publicly. It is unknown whether the developer will cooperate on a later release. Apple has not yet released iOS 9.2.1.

That the Italian developer does not make the jailbreak publicly available is obvious because Apple can fix the vulnerabilities before iOS 9.2.1 releases. The Italian previously worked on the Pangu jailbreak of iOS 9.0. The developer has Cydia running on an iPhone 6, so turns out from his screenshot.

It is unknown whether he will make the vulnerabilities available for a public release of a jailbreak at a later date. The developer is also known to Apple. He is listed on a release notes page as a finder of vulnerabilities fixed in iOS 9.2.

Jailbreaks generally require a series of vulnerabilities in iOS to crack the software and keep it cracked on reboot. After a jailbreak, users can install tools that Apple does not allow. Jailbreaks have been released for many iOS releases to date.
