Dell Introduces Three New Vostro Laptops

Dell has introduced its latest line of laptops for the business market, with Ivy Bridge processors on board. The laptops fall into the budget segment and can be configured with three screen diagonals, of 13″, 14″ and 15″.

The smallest laptop, the Vostro 3360 with 13.3″ screen, is just under two centimeters thick and comes standard with a 320GB hard drive. However, the compact laptop can also be equipped with a 500GB hard drive, combined with a 32GB SSD for caching.The processor in the 3360 is optionally a Sandy or Ivy Bridge processor and 4GB of memory is included as standard.A DVD burner is not present, which is in the two larger variants; a card reader and three USB 3.0 ports are built in.

The 14″ model is the Vostro 3460 and the 3560 has a 15″ display. Only the latter is available immediately and can be equipped with a full-HD display as an alternative to the panel with a native resolution of 1366×768 pixels, which it has in common with the 13.3″ and 14″ models. The two larger laptops can also be equipped with a 500 or 750 GB drive with SSD cache, instead of the standard 320GB drive. Furthermore, the 14″ and 15.6″ laptops can be equipped with a separate video card, a Radeon HD 7670M and an Nvidia GT 630M, respectively, each with 1GB of video memory.

The laptops are equipped with a webcam for video conferencing, a fingerprint reader with security software, Windows Home Premium or Professional and gigabit network functionality. The two smaller variants can have an LTE modem built in. Dell includes encryption and security software and provides access to its online backup services. The largest 15.6″ Vostro, the 3560, can be ordered directly from Dell from 499 euros. The 3360 and 3460 will have to wait until June 21; the prices of those laptops start at 599 and 579 euros respectively. All Vostro – prices are exclusive of VAT.
