Kojima Productions and 505 Games will release Death Stranding on August 23 for the PC Game Pass and the Ultimate Ultimate variant. The game is therefore only available to PC gamers through Microsoft’s subscription, not to users on an Xbox console.

The game will be available on Windows 10 and 11 systems starting Tuesday night through Microsoft’s game subscription. Microsoft lets you know that the PC version will include ultrawide and photo modes, as well as support for a high frame rate and some exclusive in-game items.

Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding was released for the PlayStation 4 in late 2019 and was subsequently released for PC in July of 2020. In September of 2021, a PlayStation 5 variant of the game was released. Death Stranding was initially published by Sony and later came to PC under 505 Games. The game is presumably not available for Xbox consoles due to Sony, despite its introduction to the Game Pass catalog. The vast majority of games playable through the service are released for both Xbox consoles and PC.

In Death Stranding, players take on the role of Sam, a courier in an apocalyptic, psychedelic version of the United States. The game was renowned for its unique gameplay and story elements. According to the protagonist Norman Reedus, a sequel is now in development, although no official details are known about it yet.
