CampZone 2023 is canceled, ‘seems to be the end of gaming event’
The 2023 edition of gaming event CampZone has been canceled because not enough tickets were sold in advance. People who bought a ticket will get their money back. The last edition of CampZone was before the corona pandemic.
“Compared to four years ago, our ticket sales are far too low to allow this event to go ahead,” writes the organization. “Although we have put a lot of effort into it from the beginning of this year, we have unfortunately come to the conclusion that we will also have to do without CampZone this summer.” According to the organization, this also seems to be the end of CampZone ‘as we know it’, but a new edition is not ruled out ‘if demand increases’.
CampZone is an eleven-day gaming event where visitors could game with each other and camp. There were also activities and competitions. CampZone was planned for this year from July 28 to August 7 in Zoetermeer. The last, nineteenth edition was in 2019. In the years that followed, the event was canceled due to corona, with the exception of last year. Then the event was canceled due to inflation and ‘logistical reasons’. The organization will continue to organize LAN event The-Party at the end of this summer and wants to bring the CampZone community together in ‘an alternative way’.
