Blizzard: Diablo IV is getting annual expansions

Diablo IV gets a new expansion every year. Rod Fergursson, general manager of the Diablo franchise, confirms this. It is not yet known when these expansions will be released and what they will cost.

Rod Fergursson tells this in an interview with Dexerto. According to the manager, Blizzard plans to release an expansion every year, in addition to the new seasons that are released every quarter. “We have storylines that go far into the future,” says Fergursson. “When you look back and realize there was 11 years between D3 and D4, it feels like we didn’t live up to what our players and community deserve. That’s something we’re rectifying in D4 with our seasons and our expansions .”

Fergursson does not share any further details about the upcoming expansions for Diablo IV. For example, it is not known when the first expansion will be released and what it will cost. The game came out in June; The next expansion may therefore be released in the summer of 2024, although the Diablo boss does not confirm this. A number of seasons will be released first. The company released the first season, Season of the Malignant, in July. Season of Blood will follow in October, with a vampire theme.
