Bethesda will add DLSS to Starfield. The company is also working on support for 32:9 monitors on PC, a menu for HDR calibration, brightness and contrast settings and an FOV slider. It is not yet known when exactly these features will appear.

Bethesda confirms the arrival of the various new features in a blog post. The company says it is working on several highly requested features. The company initially released a “minor hotfix” for some issues. Players can then expect “a regular series of updates” with community-requested additions, according to the studio.

One of these is DLSS support for the PC version of Starfield. DLSS is Nvidia’s upscaling technique, which renders the game at a lower resolution and then scales it up to a higher resolution. Currently, Starfield only officially supports AMD’s FSR 2.0, although mods that add Nvidia DLSS and Intel XeSS to the space RPG are also available. Bethesda has entered into a partnership with AMD for Starfield, although the latter previously confirmed that Bethesda can add DLSS to the game if desired.

Bethesda says it is also working on an Fov slider for Starfield, which will allow users to adjust the field of view in the game. The game will eventually also have a menu to calibrate HDR display, settings for adjusting brightness and contrast, support for 32:9 monitors and a button to eat food in the game world. The company also wants to add features in the longer term. “Even if we don’t fulfill your requests right away, we are happy to do so in the future, such as maps of cities,” the developer wrote.

The studio says it is also working with AMD, Intel and Nvidia on driver support for Starfield. “Each update receives new stability and performance improvements,” the company says. Bethesda once again confirms that Starfield will receive built-in mod support early next year, including for the console version. Bethesda boss Todd Howard said this recently.
