Asus equips RoG Strix laptop with AMD Ryzen 7 and RX 580

Asus has announced the RoG Strix GL702ZC. It is the first laptop from Asus to have an AMD Ryzen desktop processor. In addition, the gaming laptop contains an AMD Radeon RX 580 video card and the 17.3″ screen supports FreeSync 2.0.

The processor is the Ryzen 7 1700 octacore that can handle sixteen threads and has a TDP of 65W. The processor is normally intended for desktops; the Ryzen processors for laptops are coming later this year. Asus combines the CPU with the Radeon RX 580, which contains 8GB gddr5. The RX 580 is built around the Polaris 20 GPU and has 2304 stream processors and a clock speed of 1257MHz.

The RoG Strix GL702ZC laptop has a 17.3″ screen with a full HD resolution and there is support for FreeSync 2.0 to prevent tearing and stuttering of the image. The manufacturer also equips the laptop with a maximum of 32GB DDR4. and an SSD of 1TB, supplemented by a m2 SSD of 512GB.The laptop is 34mm thick and weighs 3 kilograms.The laptop will be available in the summer, but at what price is not yet known.
