AR tool Google shows you what’s on the other side of the world

Google has put an AR tool online to see what’s on the other side of the world if you dig a tunnel from your location and come out on the other side of the Earth. The feature only works in Chrome on Android.

Floom works by projecting information over the camera image. An icon at the bottom of the screen shows approximately the angle at which you look and where you approximately come from, while the top of the screen shows whether the tunnel would lead to land or water. A click then shows an image of the place you come from, with the option to view that location in Google Earth.

According to Google, the tool only works in its own browser Chrome and only on Android. Location sharing is required to determine where the user is and access to sensors is required to determine the angle.
