Apple has achieved increasing sales figures for the first time in a year. The company sold $69.7 billion worth of new iPhones in the last quarter of 2023. Although that is growing, Apple is still selling far fewer iPhones in China than hoped.

Apple says about the quarterly figures that it saw an increase in sales of about nine percent compared to a year earlier. Apple achieved approximately the same turnover in hardware sales as last year, around 96.4 billion dollars or 89.3 billion euros. ‘Services’, which Apple has been focusing heavily on for a few years, generated growth from $20.7 billion to $23.1 billion.

Apple earned slightly more from the sale of iPhones last year than a year ago, halting the decline in sales for the first time in a year. This is partly due to the modest growth of iPhones in North America and Europe, where Apple achieved slightly more sales. However, the Chinese market remains a problem for the company; Besides Europe and America, this is Apple’s largest sales market, but profits from sales in that country continue to decline. Apple sold $23.9 billion worth of hardware in China in the last quarter of 2023, but this past quarter it sold $20.8 billion.

Apple says it has now sold 2.2 billion devices. The company also points out that the Vision Pro headset is now in stores, but does not mention any specific forecasts about this.
