Apple introduces 15″ version of MacBook Air with M2 SoC for 1599 euros

Apple is introducing a 15.3″ version of its MacBook Air laptop during its WWDC 2023 keynote. Like the current 13″ variant, this will be equipped with an Apple Silicon M2 socket. The laptop will be available next week and will cost 1599 euros.

The new MacBook Air 15″ has four ports, just like the 13″ variant that Apple announced last year. The laptop has a MagSafe charging port, two Thunderbolt 4 connections and a 3.5mm jack. The laptop also has a Touch ID fingerprint scanner. The device is 11.5mm thick, making it the thinnest 15″ laptop on the market, according to Apple.

The 15.3″ LCD has a notch at the front, where a 1080p front camera is incorporated. The device also has three microphones, including for video calling, in addition to six speakers that, according to Apple, support Spatial Audio. The new 15. The 3″ screen also has a brightness of up to 500cd/m². Apple will not share a screen resolution during its WWDC presentation.

The Apple MacBook Air 15″ will also have an M2 SoC, just like the current MacBook Air. The laptop therefore has eight CPU cores and ten GPU cores. The laptop comes with a maximum of 24GB memory and 2TB storage. The manufacturer advertises with a battery life of up to eighteen hours. The laptop is passively cooled and therefore has no fans.

Pre-orders for the MacBook Air begin on Monday, June 5. The laptop will be released next week and costs 1599 euros. The current 13″ variant remains available for 1299 euros, while the first MacBook Air with M1 SoC remains available for 1218 euros.
