Apple has sent invitations to the media for an event likely to announce the new iPhones. The two models with OLED screens would be called iPhone XS.

The denominator of the September 12 event is ‘Gather round’. As usual, Apple doesn’t say anything about what will be announced at the event, but it’s almost certain that these are the new iPhones, which have been rumored for months. Last year, Apple held an event on the exact same date. That’s when the iPhone X was announced. The announcement kicks off at 7:00 PM CET on September 12 and will be held at the Steve Jobs Theater near Apple’s headquarters. There will be a live stream, according to the announcement.

Rumors have been talking for months about the arrival of three iPhones, two of which have an OLED screen, while one model has an LCD. The smartphones would have an A12-soc and similar design to the iPhone X, with a notch at the top of the screen, claims analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who is often right with his information about new Apple products.

Update, 20.30: According to 9to5Mac, Apple will sell the iPhones with 5.8″ and 6.5″ OLED screens under the name ‘iPhone XS’. Gold variants of those models would appear. The invitation already seems to hint at this. The site has an image of the gold models. Apple would also announce the Watch Series 4.
