Adata has released the SX8200 in its XPG line, an SSD with an m2 2280 form factor that is equipped with a PCI-e 3.0 x4 interface. The manufacturer focuses with the product on overclockers, gamers and graphic artists who render images.

The SSD will be available with storage sizes of 240, 480 and 960GB, built from Micron’s second-generation 3D TLC NAND. Adata uses Silicon Motion’s SM2262 controller for the SSDs. The 240GB and 480GB versions can read sequentially at 3.05GB/s, while the 960GB variant does this a bit slower at 3GB/s. Sequential writing does the 960GB and 480GB SSDs with 1.7GB/s a bit faster than the 240GB model, which does this at 1.2GB/s.

Adata offers a five-year warranty on the SX8200 SSDs and supplies them with an XPG heatsink. The company has a suggested retail price of $140 for the 240GB SSD. Converted and including VAT, this comes out to 137 euros. The 480GB and 960GB SSDs have suggested retail prices of $260 and $480 respectively.
