Acer equips new Predator Helios 700 gaming laptop with RTX 2080 Super
Acer has upgraded its four gaming laptops Predator Helios 700, Predator Helios 300, Predator Triton 300 and Nitro 7. The Helios 700 will get an Intel Core i9-10980HK and Nvidia RTX 2080 Super, among other things.
In addition to the variant with Core i9 and RTX 2080 Super, there will be configurations of the Predator Helios 700 with a Core i7-10875H and RTX 2070 Super. To cool all this, Acer has upgraded the cooling system. The system consists of three copper heatpipes, a vapor chamber and fans from Acer’s AeroBlade line.
The keyboard is mechanical and has RGB lighting that can be set per key. The Helios 700 gets up to 64GB of ram and two Thunderbolt 3 ports, in combination with a Killer DoubleShot Pro 802.11ax network card and multiple PCI-e NVME SSDs in raid 0. The screen has a 17.3″ diagonal and a ips panel that can refresh images at 144Hz The Predator Helios 700 will appear in September for a price starting at 2700 euros.It is not yet known what specifications buyers get for that money.
A step lower in the range is the Helios 300, which gets an upgrade with an RTX 2070 Max-Q and a 240Hz panel for the 15.6 “screen. The Helios 300 can support up to 32GB DDR4 and two PCI-e ssds in raid 0 in combination with a 2TB hdd.This laptop will be released in July for a starting price of 1,300 euros.
The Triton 300 has to rely on its small thickness: the gaming laptop is 20 mm thick. Acer has managed to get a tenth-generation Intel Core H processor and an RTX 2070 Max-Q video card in it. The 15.6″ screen has a maximum refresh rate of 240Hz and brightness of 300cd/m². This laptop can accommodate three m2 SSDs, one of which is via a PCI-e interface. The laptop will be released in July for 1400 euros.
Finally, there is the Nitro 7, which will have a starting price of 1,300 euros when it is released in July. This laptop is also 20 mm thick, but will receive a maximum of an RTX 2060. There are again three m2 slots for SSDs and there is support for a maximum of 32 GB of ram. The gigabit Ethernet card is the Killer Ethernet E2600. The 15.6″ screen has a 144Hz panel.
