MyReact is free to use forum software that uses PHP, MySQL, and Zend. In addition to posting topics and messages, it is also possible to use private messaging features and keep track of topics via email notification, ICQ, and XML and RSS feeds. Parse developer Spider.007 alerts us to a new release candidate of MyReact. It concerns Release Candidate 4 of the 1.9.4 branch, which delivered comes with a host of changes and improvements over the third release candidate, including the forum backend, engine, and private messaging system. The full changelog is posted below:

Sometimes it takes a long time, sometimes it takes less time I just put a new RC of MyReact online. Main changes:

General
• Registration and registration conformation appear to have been broken for some time and are now fixed.
• Converted all ‘standard’ ‘echo’ commands to ‘print’ commands, for easier debug echo tracing

Admin

• Added ‘field_class’ option to admin items
• ‘wide-field’ class for textarea over total width
• ’empty result page’ fix
• Parse error fix
• ‘field_class’ option added to field definition
• ‘wide-field’ if field_class => wide-field
• ForumID remembered during post-history
• Posthistory / Topichistory in default layouy improved
• Topichistory has topicid as counter
• Prettier result pages for 50% of the actions (rest comes later)

Message

• When moving also update user_statistics on new topic (split posthistory fix)

• Folder parent id now also available as folder_parent_id in addition to folder_parent

• PM subscription update brought to React by default

• Fixed the post history for merge behavior
• Lastmessage in posthistory date stored correctly after merge
• Added some error catcher to the mail() function (checks recipient, subject and content)

• Added better linking to pm cookie crumble path
• Removed ‘cellspacing’ table tag addition in functions.inc.php
• Nickname of user in list_discussions if it is not the current one
