Download Skype for Mac 5.2.0.1523

Spread the love

Skype has released a new version of its voip client for Mac OS X. Last November, the version number was aligned with that of Windows and a jump was made from 2.8 to 5.0. It also resembles the Windows version more in terms of appearance and possibilities. For example, video conferencing is possible with up to ten people and text messages can be sent to contacts who are not online. Skype for Mac requires at least Mac OS X 10.5.6 and the download is just over 20MB in size. The changelog for version 5.2.0.1523 looks like this:

Improved Multi-tasking
You can still see inbound video call while you are in multi-tasking. With call control bar, you can mute, or hang up call easily without switching back to Skype.

Group Screen Sharing
Users with Skype Premium subscription can enable screen sharing during a group video call.

Sidebar Enhancement
You can find your most active conversations more easily under Recents in the sidebar by moving less active ones to History section.

Support for Mac’s built-in HD and Logitech’s B910 HD cameras
Both incoming and outgoing HD are supported for those two cameras.

Minor bug fixes
In addition to new features and enhancements, we put a lot of efforts fixing bugs reported by users. Thank you for letting us know about the issues.
