The team behind 0Patch will provide unofficial security patches for the Microsoft Edge browsers with Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 until at least January 2025. They will receive their last official security update this month.

For Windows 7 and 8.1 and Server 2012, Microsoft Edge version 109, due this month, will be the last official security update they will receive. Windows Server 2012 will receive official support for the browser until October 2023, but no new Edge security updates. The makers of 0Patch promise that they will continue to provide “critical” security patches for this Edge version until at least January 2025. Depending on the question, it will be decided whether that period will be extended.

The 0Patch team previously promised to support the Windows 7 and 2008 R2 operating systems with security patches until January 2025. Official free security support for both versions has been discontinued since 2020. A 0Patch subscription costs 24.95 euros per year per device.
