After Google previously increased the storage limit of its mail service Gmail, the company has now also decided to increase the maximum file size for videos on Youtube tenfold and to stretch the maximum length.

Due to the relaxation of the video limits, users can now upload videos of up to 1GB. Previously, the limit was 100MB. The maximum length is still ten minutes, YouTube announced at the end of last week announced

In addition, the developers of the video sites have developed an application that allows users to easily upload multiple videos at once. This so-called YouTube Uploader is currently only available to users with Windows, a Mac version is still being worked on.

The YouTube Uploader is just over 220KB in size and once installed, it gives users access to a dedicated Youtube upload page. Youtube warns that due to the size of a video it can take up to half an hour before it is visible in the user’s profile after uploading.
