Yeelight introduces two new bulbs in its range of smart lighting that are compatible with Apple HomeKit. This includes a floor lamp and a desk lamp. The floor lamp can already be found in Chinese web shops.
The Yeelight ‘Star’ floor lamp has already appeared in the Chinese webshop ‘Xiaomi Youpin’. The floor standing lamp is compatible with Apple HomeKit, Xiaomi’s Mi Home app and Yeelight app. The lamp can also be controlled with the Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. The floor lamp has a number of built-in LED lamps that can display shades of white between 2700k and 6500k. In addition, the LEDs also have RGB colors.
The brightness is set with a slider. In addition, the lamp has two touch-sensitive buttons. The floor lamp is about 1.63 meters high and has a round base with a diameter of 25 centimeters. The lamp works in all regions with a mains voltage between 100V and 240V with frequencies of 50Hz or 60Hz. The lamp consumes about 12W of power. Like all other Yeelight products, the floor lamp uses WiFi as the connection method. The webshop sells the floor lamp for 699 Chinese renminbi, converted and including 21 percent VAT, that comes down to about 89 euros.
Less information is known about the desk lamp. Reportedly, there will be two different models; a normal variant and a model with a built-in wireless charger that uses the Qi standard. The price and availability of these models are not yet known. Yeelight products are usually available through Chinese web shops such as AliExpress.
