Xiaomi unveils Mi 9 on February 20
Xiaomi will announce its upcoming Mi 9 smartphone on February 20 at an event in Beijing. This means that the unveiling of the high-end device falls on the same day as Samsung presents the Galaxy S10.
Xiaomi has announced the date via an announcement in Chinese, according to Xiaomi Today, among others. In addition to the announcement that the unveiling will take place on February 20 in Beijing, the announcement states that the Mi 9 is known internally under the code name “Battle Angel”. According to the manufacturer, it is the Mi phone that “looks best so far”. Photos of the alleged device seem to indicate that it does not have a hole in the screen, like several devices this year, but a notch at the top for the front camera. On February 20, Samsung will hold its Unpacked event in San Francisco, where the company is expected to announce its Galaxy S10 models.
In previous rumors, some specifications of the device came forward. For example, the smartphone would have three cameras on the back: a 48-megapixel camera, a 12-megapixel variant and a 3D depth sensor. The processor would be the Snapdragon 855 from Qualcomm and the device would have a 6.4 “OLED screen. Xiaomi is expected to release three variants, with 6GB ram and 128GB storage, 8GB ram and 128GB storage and 8GB ram and 256GB storage. The battery capacity would be 3500mAh, with fast charging option of 32W.
