Two Britons suspected of being members of the hacker group LulzSec are said to have confessed to attacking a number of websites, including the sites of the CIA and British police.
Ryan Cleary, 20 and Jake Davis, 19, have admitted to taking down websites by carrying out DDoS attacks, according to a London court. The targets included a number of British government websites, but also American government agencies such as the CIA and multinationals such as Sony were attacked. The two suspects are said to be members of the hacker group LulzSec, although they also allegedly collaborated with individuals associated with the Anonymous movement.
According to The Guardian, the suspects also confessed to four other charges, including attempts to hack into US Air Force computer systems. Both Britons are also said to have pleaded guilty to these facts, but at the same time have claimed their innocence as to whether they have made classified information public.
Two other Britons who have been arrested, a 17-year-old and a 25-year-old man, say they are innocent on all counts. They will have to appear in court in April next year.
