Tesla wants to deliver its first Cybertrucks to a small range of customers from November 30. The company announced this in an update to shareholders. The truck should go into mass production next year.

Tesla leaves on X know that the previous Cybertrucks must be delivered to the Giga Texas factory on November 30. In the presentation of its quarterly figures the automaker also announced that it has the capacity to produce ‘more than 125,000’ Cybertrucks annually. CEO Elon Musk claims during a call with shareholders that capacity can potentially be doubled to 250,000 by 2025. according to Reuters.

During the same call, Musk said he wanted to temper expectations for the truck, saying “tremendous challenges” lie ahead in reaching planned production and “achieving positive cash flow at an affordable price.” According to Musk, the latter could take another year and a half. Still, the stainless steel truck is said to be in high demand. According to the CEO, more than 1 million people have pre-ordered the car, for which they have already had to make a small down payment.

A prototype of the electric pickup truck was first shown almost four years ago. The truck would initially be available at the end of 2021. It was then reported that the cheapest version would go on sale from $40,000 and the most expensive version from $70,000. Last July, the car manufacturer announced that the first product version of the Cybertruck had been produced. Partly due to the high costs associated with the production of the Cybertruck and a declining margin on its electric vehicles due to price reductions, the company’s operating income fell by 44 percent last quarter compared to a year ago, to 1.8 billion dollars.
