TCL recently introduced some new QLED LCD TVs with mini LED backlight. These models, namely the C935 and C835, run on Google TV and also include support for Airplay 2 and HomeKit.

Television website Flat panelsHD reports based on a briefing from TCL that these two models will support Airplay 2 and HomeKit. This also applies to the C735, which does not have a mini LED backlight. Only these three models will get Airplay 2 and HomeKit support. These Apple-related features were already available on previously released models for the North American market.

Airplay 2 makes it possible to wirelessly share media files such as photos and music from an iOS or Mac device to the television. For example, HomeKit makes it possible to turn the television on or off and switch HDMI inputs via an iPhone or Siri voice command. Because it concerns TV models with Google TV, Chromecast and Google Home are also available.

The C935, C835 and C735 are part of the models that TCL will release in Europe this year. These are 4k televisions with support for HDMI 2.1, VRR and 144Hz. The C935 will probably achieve a brightness of 2000cd/m², while that will be 1000cd/m² with the C835. The C735 does not have a mini LED backlight and will therefore be less bright and, above all, also have a less intricate system for displaying high dynamic range.
