The successor to the successful Motorola Moto G smartphone will reportedly be on the shelves from the beginning of September for about 250 euros. That’s what GSMArena claims on Monday, based on a source at a retailer.
The successor, known as the G2 and the Moto G+1, would be available from September 10, according to the source for 250 euros. It is just not known what the final amount is, because this can differ per country due to, for example, the tax rate.
The new Moto G smartphone may be announced at the IFA technology show, which is in Berlin from September 5-10. GSMArena claims based on the information obtained that some suppliers may receive the device sooner, but it is not clear whether they are allowed to sell it yet.
Last month, an image appeared online of what the presumed successor to the Motorola Moto G smartphone should be. This led to the conclusion that the Moto G2, as the device is called in the rumor circuit, gets design elements from the much more recent and cheaper Moto E, such as the ‘silver stripes’ for speakers on the front.
As far as is known, the Moto G2 codenamed XT1063 would have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400-soc with Adreno 305-gpu. The device, which according to GFXBench reportedly has 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage on board, would also support dual SIM. The screen would be 5″ in size with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels.
