Spotify is getting more fun. Our favorite streaming platform for music now also has a huge range of podcasts. Reportedly, you will even find almost 1 million. Far too many to listen to and that’s why lists are so nice. Then you immediately see which podcasts you should not miss. In July we already heard that this function with lists of popular podcasts was coming, but then we could not use it in the Netherlands. Fortunately, that has now changed and that makes our lives a lot easier.
Most popular podcasts in the Netherlands
The list of top podcasts, applause if you can pronounce this without breaking your tongue, is updated daily. There are many great homegrown podcasts . This can be seen in the top 3 of today. It consists entirely of Dutch productions. The Podcast Awards will be presented again on November 6 and the number 1 today, Man, man, man, the podcast, already won the prizes. The podcast was also nominated this year, just like the Self-mock cast. Furthermore, the list is a good reflection of what concerns us at the moment. The podcast of Wie is de mol? now at number 7, that will be different in a few months.

The list of Trending podcasts is compiled in a different way. Here you can see which new and upcoming podcasts are growing fast. So if you want to join the conversation, you should check out this list. At the moment it is quite a varied list, but here too you can clearly see the influences of the moment. You can listen to ‘Nicky Verstappen’s story’, made by De Limburger. It is no coincidence that this podcast scores now that the trial in this case has started.

Are you not in the mood for a Dutch podcast, do you want to practice your Spanish or are you just curious about what scores in other countries? You can check out the most popular podcasts for each country. In some countries they have even divided these into categories, which is much more convenient to search. For example, you can easily see which Comedy podcasts score in the United States (Joe Rogan is popular, ed.). In short: it is nice to scroll through the lists and we hope that this expansion will still be implemented in the Netherlands.

Podcasts have been on the rise for years and are increasingly popular. If you have a brilliant idea, you can really score with it. There are about 30 million episodes of podcasts online on Spotify alone. And if you speak good English, you can consider making a number of episodes in that language. In the United States alone there are more than 100 million listeners and in the Netherlands we also like to listen to English-language podcasts.
