Blind Squirrel Games promises to release a patch for Sonic Colors: Ultimate “as soon as possible”. The game recently appeared for PC and consoles, but suffered from several bugs. The Nintendo Switch version of the game in particular suffers from problems.

Community manager Katie Chrzanowski thanks players on Twitter for their feedback and indicate that the issues are being looked into. “We appreciate all the feedback we’ve received so far about Sonic Colors: Ultimate. We’re listening and working on a patch to get it out as soon as possible.” In addition, the team emphasizes that it has also encountered “graphics problems” caused by playing the game through an emulator, something the developers cannot fix themselves.

Sonic Colors: Ultimate will be officially released on September 7, but players who bought the Digital Deluxe edition have been able to play the game since September 3. Shortly after this early release, reports appeared on social media about bugs, crashes and other stability issues, Eurogamer also writes. These problems would mainly be in the Nintendo Switch version. Players reported falling out of the maps or encountering severe visual bugs, among other things.

Some of these bugs are said to affect players playing the game illegally through emulators on a PC, but GameXplain indicates in a video that it has also encountered bugs in the game on a legitimate Switch console. The video contains glitches the YouTube channel encountered during “normal gameplay,” but GameXplain notes that some bugs also require specific steps to perform, making them less likely to occur when players are simply playing the game.
