The Runscanner program is capable of checking the system for the presence of malware. It can make use of various online databases such as Fileadvisor and Castle cops, to check suspicious files based on their md5 hash. Suspicious files can also be forwarded to Virus total to detect any viruses that may be present. For more information, we refer you to this page. The developers recently released version 1.7.0.0 with the following list of changes:

• Removed classic mode and merged it with the expert mode.

• Runscanner now scans all loaded modules by default
• Runscanner text logfiles are redesigned to better fit in forums
• Filepaths are no longer converted into lowercase
• Run files now include all loaded modules
• Old run files are no longer compatible with the new version.
• Bug fixed: some incorrect “file not found” fixed for filenames
• Bug fixed: no description shows for some items
• Bug fixed: drwtsn32 -p %ld -e %ld -g could not be parsed

• Fixed error some items could not be deleted when a certain filter was set
