Software Update: Pale Moon 7.0.1

Spread the love

A minor update has been released for Pale Moon’s version 7.0, which was released earlier this week. This web browser uses the source code of Mozilla Firefox, but is optimized for modern hardware. The Windows version of Mozilla Firefox is developed with the greatest possible compatibility in mind. Partly due to concessions to older hardware, the browser is not as fast as it could be. Pale Moon is functionally almost identical to Mozilla Firefox, but does not support older processors. Some things have also been omitted, including ‘Accessibility features’ and ‘Parental controls’. The result is a browser that could be up to 25 percent better to perform. The program uses its own profile folder and does not share it with Firefox, making it possible to use the two side by side. Version 7.01 fixes an annoying bug that had a negative impact on speed.

Pale Moon 7.0.1 released!

This update fixes a very important speed regression issue for Pale Moon 7.0. It impacts mostly the page content layout engine and DOM handling, which will be on par again with what they should be for Pale Moon in this point release. bug: 20111001-CCBug. Benchmarking scores will see a significant jump from 7.0 to 7.0.1 as a result, as well. There are no other functional or UI changes for this release.
